17th CENTURY STOOL FROM A ROYAL COLLECTION ~ SEVENOAKS

Conservation of the gilded surface of a stool commissioned by King James II in 1688, now part of the collection of the National Trust. Treatment involved documentation, surface cleaning, consolidation of heavily flaking decorative surface, stabilisation of decorative and structural elements, loss compensation, regilding and patinating the surface.
